Overview

Are you a creative individual with a passion for marketing? Can you contribute to positively showcasing Chesterfield? If that’s you, you could be our next team member.

In this role, you will support the Destination Chesterfield team to showcase the town of Chesterfield as an ideal place to invest, live, work and visit through delivering effective marketing and sharing engaging content.

Overview

Key areas of responsibility

  • Campaign delivery – Support the creation and execution of promotional campaigns and manage databases.
  • Digital content delivery – Create and update content on the chesterfield.co.uk website, ensuring it remains current, engaging, and optimised for search engines.
  • Social media marketing – Oversee day-to-day operations of Destination Chesterfield’s social media channels, including content creation and customer engagement.
  • Event marketing – Deliver marketing activities for Chesterfield Champions and commercial events.
  • Conduct social listening – Monitor social media channels to engage with businesses and customers, discover new products, and encourage user-generated content.
  • Performance reporting – Monitor and prepare reports highlighting the success of various marketing initiatives.
  • Skills initiatives support – Aid the team in delivering marketing for a range of skills-focused programs.

Destination Chesterfield is responsible for promoting Chesterfield as a place to live, work, invest and visit. It was established in 2010, funded through support from local businesses and Chesterfield Borough Council. Destination Chesterfield is part funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. If you’re successful at this stage, you will be invited for an interview. If you’re unsuccessful, the Chamber’s HR team will let you know by email.

First, you’ll be invited to interview onsite at the Chamber’s Chesterfield office. If your interview goes well, you may invited to attend a second interview or offered the role. Some interviews might require you to compile some research or to prepare a presentation. At the end of the interview, the interviewer will confirm the timeline for next steps.

Interviews usually last around an hour with a mix of competency based interview questions, and in some cases, we might ask you to carry out some practical exercises.

Decisions will be made at each stage of the process, as we score applicants against the role criteria. If you’re successful, we will contact you to make an offer. This will be followed up in writing and a contract will be sent to you once a start date is confirmed. You will receive information on your induction and what you will do on your first day. If you have any questions, please just get in touch.
