Chamber submits five Budget asks to unlock growth in the East Midlands

The Chamber is calling on the Chancellor to prioritise five measures it says, if announced, would ensure the best conditions are in place for business and growth in the region.

The five points are based on the Chamber’s landmark document – The Framework for Growth – and follow extensive engagement with firms across the East Midlands through research, surveys, roundtables and direct consultation.

Businesses across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are being encouraged to help shape the future workforce through the 2026–2029 Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).

Developed through extensive consultation with employers, education providers and regional stakeholders, the plan aims to ensure local skills provision reflects the needs of a rapidly changing economy. Employer insight will help colleges, universities and training providers deliver the skills, training and talent businesses need to grow.
