We know delegates are likely to be at different levels when it comes to their understanding of finance for business.

That’s why we’ve tailored this session to naturally involve Peer Learning. There’s real benefit in working collaboratively in pairs or small groups to discuss concepts or find solutions to problems.

Overview

Who should attend?
Aimed at SME owners, directors & senior managers with overall responsibility for managing the business. It is aimed at non-financial experts. Delegates will typically be business leaders without formal financial training, i.e. not Accountants.

What’s covered:
• The standard business financial models of the Balance Sheet, P&L & Cashflow
• The numerous ways of funding a business from your own cash & assets to Private Equity & Crowd-funding
• Analysis of the financial statements & their link to strategies to improve performance
• Related Case Studies

What outcomes can you expect from joining us

What outcomes will be achieved?
• Understand where they should focus for good business finance management

This first module will build confidence for the rest of the programme by discussing topics such as:
• Revenue & Expenses
• Cash, Inventory, Accounts Receivable & Payable
• Employees/ Payroll
• P&Lplus
• Preparing for Tax

Success will be measured by whether or not the delegates:
• Feel by the end that they can understand the 3 main financial reports: Balance Sheet, P&L & Cashflow, and
• Confident that they can interpret these reports and use them as a strategic tool to manage the business rather than just a scorecard after the event

Workshops are open to start-up and established small to medium sized enterprises located in the following local authority areas taking part in the East Midlands Chamber’s Accelerator project:
Amber Valley; Ashfield; Bassetlaw; Broxtowe; Chesterfield; Derby; Derbyshire Dales; Erewash; Gedling; High Peak; Leicester City; Mansfield; Newark & Sherwood; North East Derbyshire; Nottingham; Rushcliffe; South Derbyshire.
 
(Please note: Businesses based in districts not participating in the Accelerator project i.e. Bolsover; Leicestershire) may attend providing they are members of East Midlands Chamber. In such instances, please contact ​​​​​Emily Gascoyne on 07741904395 who will approve your booking.

The Accelerator project delivers online webinars and full-day workshops. The Webinars are designed as one-hour taster sessions and the workshops as full-day training sessions which are designed to provide delegates with an actionable plan and strategy.
