Description
Bolsover District Council (BDC) has been successful in winning over £242,000 from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and Midlands Net Zero Hub. This funding is on behalf of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire region for delivery in the summer of 2024 to support regional retrofit skills development, part of its push is to support green skills in the district and region, specifically relating to Retrofit Skills.

To support those organisations involved in the retrofit market the Employer Forum has been created to ensure that business needs are fully represented, which includes identifying key challenges, gaps and pinch points for the retrofit and energy efficiency sectors.

The Forum will work to tap into the multi-million pounds of opportunities in retrofit, for a variety of trades, ensuring local businesses benefit from this investment.

It will also support the recruiting and developing of the future workforce, to ensure that the industry is able to contribute to growth opportunities in retrofitting the built environment to meet net zero targets.

The Forum will run concurrently with, and link into, the Local Authority Forum and the Skills Forum.
