Business representatives will have an opportunity to hear from and question candidates for the General Election at a hustings event in Chesterfield on 20th June.
Labour candidate for Chesterfield, Toby Perkins and Conservative candidate for North East Derbyshire, Lee Rowley have confirmed participation so far, while all other major parties have been invited to supply candidates.
Put together by East Midlands Chamber, in partnership with Destination Chesterfield and Chesterfield Champions, the session takes place at the Chamber’s Millennium Way office in the town and will follow established hustings convention, where candidates respond to audience questions within a time limit.
East Midlands Chamber Chief Executive Scott Knowles said: “Exactly two weeks before the country takes to the polls, this hustings event offers the North Derbyshire business community the opportunity to put questions directly to the candidates and hear how their parties would support business and the regional economy, should they be elected.”
