Finalists for East Midlands Chamber’s Business Awards 2024 have been announced at a packed networking event hosted by Chamber President Stuart Dawkins.
The President’s Summer Celebration on 21st August brought together Business Awards entrants from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire at Delta Hotels Nottingham Belfry. Guests had an opportunity to network and reflect on challenges and achievements in the year so far, before the shortlist was unveiled.
Finalists were selected by a panel of judges made of sponsors and senior management at East Midlands Chamber.
East Midlands Chamber President Stuart Dawkins said: “When I look at the people and organisations that have entered or been fortunate enough to become finalists for this year’s East Midlands Business Awards I’m blown away by the calibre and talent. The quality of entries was exceptionally high and I’m sure the judging panels had some tough decisions to make as the shortlist was compiled.
“To host today’s Summer Celebration was a proud moment; it’s been wonderful to see so many influential and inspirational people in one place. The East Midlands business community is strong and when I see so many leaders, so much rising talent, apprentices, and innovative people all in one place, I’m reminded why the region is a Centre of Trading Excellence. While announcing the finalists is exciting, it’s the sharing of ideas that means everyone at an event like this gains.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the finalists that were revealed today at the Business Awards which are not too far away now. Even if not a finalist, the opportunity to be among so many businesses and to converse with them is really worthwhile so for anyone that hasn’t yet booked to attend, I’d urge them to do so.”
Tomato Energy were announced as finalists in multiple categories: the Excellence in Innovation Award for Derbyshire, the Environmental Impact Award in Derbyshire and Leicestershire and the Education and Business Partnership Award in Nottinghamshire.
Tomato Energy Community Manager Dhiren Katwa said: “We feel incredibly proud to have been shortlisted in so many categories. We’re a fast-rising company trying to make a difference to the lives and livelihood of people. These awards play a vital and important role, as in addition to getting an award, networking is absolutely essential, more so now than ever before in connecting people, building those networks so you can help each other flourish and reach full potential.”
