Entry deadline approaches for East Midlands Chamber’s Business Awards 2024

Submission for 2024’s East Midlands Chamber Business Awards 2024 closes soon to allow judging to commence.

Hosted by TV presenter Emma Jesson, the Chamber’s Business Awards take place over three evenings with separate ceremonies in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire showcasing the outstanding achievement of firms in each county.

From the winners, a Business of the Year will be selected to go through to the regional and national British Chambers of Commerce Awards.  In 2023, the Derbyshire Business of the Year was Midland Lead, in Nottinghamshire it went to BFY Group and in Leicestershire was won by Unique Window Systems.

BFY Group Managing Director Ian Barker said: “After a year where we’d doubled the size of our team and achieved some exceptional results with clients both locally and nationwide, it was great to celebrate with this award.

“The judges recognised our continued growth, while ensuring our culture and values remain central to everything that we do.  East Midlands Chamber’s Business Awards are known for their commitment to recognising the highest achieving companies in our region.”

Unique Window Systems Aluminium Operations Manager Mir Patel said: “For us at Unique Window Systems, winning Leicestershire Business of the Year was a proud moment.  After a year where we’d seen record-breaking numbers and an ever-growing team, we knew we were on track to have our success recognised. To have it recognised by such an esteemed panel of judges and a wonderful organisation meant a huge amount to us.

“It was fantastic that the judges recognised our commitment to placing our clients first, the fearless approach to recurring investment in the latest machinery, vehicles and technology.

East Midlands Chamber’s Business Awards stand out for celebrating high achievement and sharing a black tie dinner with the most inspirational people from all sectors of industry. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and a great opportunity to build new and existing connections.”

Time is running out for businesses to submit entries across 13 categories which include Excellence in Innovation, Outstanding Growth and Excellence in Innovation.

After entry closes the judging panel steps in to begin shortlisting submissions, ahead of the announcement of finalists which is set to take place at the President’s Summer Celebration on 21st August at  Delta Hotels Nottingham Belfry.

East Midlands Chamber Chief Executive Scott  Knowles said: “What’s always striking about the Chamber’s Business Awards is the level of innovation and resilience we have across the East Midlands.  While the judging panel have a tough task ahead, what stands out to me is the way businesses in each county continually overcome whatever obstacles are in their path to grow and innovate.

“Businesses and the people behind them deserve to be highlighted for how they’ve pushed hurdles aside and are a shining example to the region’s business community.  We always get a rush of last-minute entries, so at this stage I’d urge anyone considering entering to get their submission to us straight away, so as not to miss out on the recognition they deserve as judging is about to get underway.”

Dates set for the three award ceremonies are:

25th October – Derbyshire

1st November – Nottinghamshire
